During the month of May, I got a long weekend ,that is memorial Day (May 26th) on Monday .So me and my friends have planned to visit a good place.
The place that immediately clicked all of our minds is Niagara falls.

We all never been to Niagara falls.One of the worlds most famous tourist place.We have decided to go.And we started looking for Hotels.Since it was a long weekend in US,people from various corners will surely come here.We also found most of the hotels are already booked,since we are little bit late in our bookings.We started looking for hotels just 3 days before our journey.

Finally we found a little bit cheaper Hotel online and we booked it.It is Econolodge in Pembroke,which is 45 miles from Niagara falls.For one night stay they charged $125 for double bed room.We are not able to book less than two days as it compulsory stay is minimum 2 nights.So we booked for two nights.

Friday evening we started our journey from Champaign,IL in a Cobalt Sport car which was rented by my friend Sathish.It is around 11pm we started from here after taking dinner.Niagara is around 700miles from Champaign.So we had bought a GPS ,so that it will be easy for our navigation.We fixed it in our car and it guided us well.

We were following the traffic rules and speed limit exactly.Since in most of the parts of highway road work is going on and speed limit is set to 55m/hr which is very less in US.In indiana State the speed limit is upto 75,so we can speed up in this state highway.We reached our hotel in Pembroke at around 12.3o pm.
Then we took a bath and we headed to niagara.We parked our car near opposite to Niagara center.Parking charge was $10.Punjabi restaurant is provide free parking if you take food there.
After parking our ,we are all set to see the Niagara falls.


We reached there by walk and had a look of it.It is really amazing view to watch the massive amount of water flowing down the hill.Eventhough we are all tired,after having a look at that we all got refreshed.

There are some boards which displays facts about nigara.It showed that 3,160 tons of water flows over the falls every second. This accounts for 75,750 gallons of water per second over the American and Bridal Veil Falls and 681,750 gallons per second over the Horseshoe Falls.

It is really fascinating to be present in front of the falls and watch it

Niagara Falls is composed of two major sections separated by Goat Island: Horseshoe Falls, on the Canadian side of the border and American Falls on the United States side.We went to the American side of the Niagara falls.
We also had a view of Canadian side from America.

In the evening we went to nearby shops and took a $15 worth dinner in the indian restaurant which is not so good.We decided not to come again to that restaurant after this.

Then we took samosa in the near by shop.It is another horrible experience.Samosa is non eatable and guy who is selling is not caring about customers and just concentrating on money making.
We feel these places are like india because of the indian look like shops and a large amount of indians come here during weekends.We saw almost 70% people there are indians only.
After this tiring trip,all are almost exhausted,so went back to hotel at 10pm to take rest .Everybody had a wonderful sleep and we got up at 7 am in the morning.Everybody took bath and had breakfast in the hotel. Breakfast they provided is not good,but still,its just one day.So we adjusted to it.
Then we checked out of the hotel in the morning itself.This hotel is no way good in the american standards.But good in case of indian standards.


We reached Niagara park around 8.30 a.m ,then we found out there is a ticket which if we take ,can be used in all rides.This helps avoid standing in large queue in each of the rides.Many people are not aware of this and spending time unnecessarily in queue.It is just $30 for which you get this Niagara Discovery Pass,a ticket to all the rides here.

1.Maid of the Mist

Most of the people would like to go for this ride.It is a must.We know the crowd is high for this.So we went for this as a first thing in the morning. We cruised to the base of the American falls,then to the basin of the Horseshoe Falls .It's an unforgettable 30 minute adventure into the wet and wild.

2.Cave of the winds

Cave of the winds is an another exciting ride ,where we can actually walk to the base of the falls.It brings you face to face with the rushing waters of Niagara falls.They provided yellow color coats to wear and we carried our cameras .You can touch the base of the falls and have a shower from the falls .The water is so cold and the feeling is awesome.We really spent more time here and we had lot of fun under the waters of Niagara.We feel here ,like another indian water falls where we shout in group and get wet and forming a circle.But to go for this you have to stand in a really long queue.It takes lot of time to reach down.
Same thing you can go in the night to see the falls is illuminated with rainbow colors by Laser light.

3.Niagara falls Movie
You get to see a movie about niagara.It was initially boring and we started sleeping,but then there also some good scenes,about a 63 year lady who gone over the falls in a barrel and survived and about other thrilling actions also

4.Niagara scenic Trolley
This trolley runs through the park making regular stops at all park's attractions.We got a wrist band by giving the ticket,so that we can keep travelling on the same trolley to various locations thoughout the day.

Also we can get to visit Niagara Gorge Dicovery Center and Aquarium of Niagara which closes at 5 pm .

Rainbow bridge is another place where we need to carry our passports,so that we can enter this bridge and walk to Canadian side.It is just a 10 min walk to touch the land of canada.

Goat island is a good place where we can have fun and see the canadian view of Niagara.














Three sisters island is also a good place where we spent good amount of time in taking photos and watching the beautiful Niagara river flowing .


And in the night at 10 pm we assembled in the top to see the fireworks.I heard fireworks over the falls will be only on every Friday and Sunday from May 18 until September 2, as well as Wednesdays in July and August and Fridays from September 5 to October 10 and other special days like memorial day etc.

We are very lucky to watch this .It is an awesome experience .One should not miss this event who comes to niagara and they should plan on the above days to get this unforgettable experience.We got to see the beauty of niagara in the day light as well as in the laser night light which is an ultimate experience one should have in their life.
Niagara generates a tremendous view and sound which always remains in your heart for lifetime.
